Strong. Positive Connections. Individualized Trauma Services:
Healing from trauma is a unique process. The effects of trauma are as individualized and as unique as the person who experiences the trauma. An Individualized Trauma Services (ITS) Resiliency Specialist engages and builds trusting relationships with adults and children who have experienced trauma and attachment disruptions so that the individual can increase the capacity to heal from past trauma. The Resiliency Specialist brings their empathy, self-awareness, and expertise on trauma and attachment to all interactions, validating the person's experience(s), including that current disruptive behaviors make sense given those experiences. ITS Resiliency Specialists create a feeling of control and safety by emphasizing clients' ability to 'hire' or 'fire' them. Resiliency Specialists provide education about trauma and attachment and how these experiences affect the body and mind. Resiliency Specialists model, teach and encourage coping and relaxation skills, the identification of emotions, and emotional regulation. Resiliency Specialists encourage and support the consumer to advocate for themselves and their needs, including their need for control.
